Without You

Without You

I’ve been too long without you by my side
Dark shadows mask the path that once we knew
Alone, this life's an endless winding road.

We held each other's hand and walked astride
The whole of both our souls in clearest view
I’ve been too long without you by my side.

It wasn't that we ever truly lied
But quietly the distance 'tween us grew
Without you life's a lonely winding road.

And piece by piece the love within you died
Soft petals falling lifeless as we go
I’ve been too long without you by my side.

The raging storm eventually arrived
Left withered, faith and shattered hope withdrew
Alone, this life's a long and winding road.

The years have told how solitude ensued
The consequences lived with through and through
I’ve been too long without you by my side
Alone, this life's an endless winding road.
